Dear Pastor and Church,
Re: COGOP Inaugural School of Practical and Advanced Studies in UK
It is my prayer and hope that this letter finds you in the abundant flow of Gods grace, in your lives and within your local church. Having recently reflected on the joy of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the place of the dead, we now look forward with great anticipation to celebrate Pentecost and the impartation of the Holy Spirit.
I write to inform and seek your support for our first School of Practical and Advanced Studies (SOPAS) in the UK, which will be held at the House of Bread, Kitto Road, New Cross, London SE14 5TW between on the September 1 – 4, 2011.
What is SOPAS and who should attend?
The School of Practical and Advanced Studies was established in 2004 and launched in our International General Assembly of that year with the primary goal of providing veritable discipleship education for pastors, ministers and church leaders, in partnership with other significant learning providers. Thus far it has made a dynamic impact in over 65 countries where our churches are now functioning. Bishop Dr Hector Hortiz who is supported by a team of other qualified and experienced bishops currently directs the school.
The core subjects are Pastoral Leadership, Ecclesiastical Identity and Theological Reflections, which will be provided in both Spanish and English. All pastors, ministers and ministry leaders will be greatly benefited by this short and intensive course. Course synopsis enclosed.
What are the costs and how do I enrol?
The cost for tuition including meals will be £90.00. Please call Opal or Pat at the church office at House of Bread, New Cross on 020 7732 4970 or Janet or Colleen at the National Office to enrol or complete the application form which is enclosed and post to the address thereon. Each student will receive a pack, containing course notes and other relevant information.
We are expecting Bishops Randall Howard, Clayton Endecott, Adrian Varlack and several other international church leaders to be teaching and presenting in this inaugural school. I welcome the opportunity and do ask you to promote this event to our ministers and churches and do look forward to seeing you during our first SOPAS in London.
With every spiritual blessing
Bishop Wilton Powell, OBE
